a total rip off of the mighty boosh! how can they think that they can blatently copy the mighty boosh’s soup song. it even ends with sunshine princess and the soup song ends with oriental prince! i hope they are sued!
Yeah, they shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it – there’s always a lot of “borrowing” of popular culture in advertising but this is blatant rip-off!
Seriously just seen this and had to google to find out what the frik was going on. I can’t believe they’ve made such a blatant rip off. Anger!!

Whats wrong with every one, i thought the advert was a right laugh.
Boosh don’t own “crimping” it’s like rapping. Plus what about every other genre of music? loads of bands/singers sing the same genre.
Fleesh says:

Arseholes!
That’s not even crimping anyway – if it wasn’t written by Noel and Julian. Plus it’s just well below their standards too.
This has just proven what I always suspected – that the Honey Monster is Benjamin Grimm’s homosexual long lost twin.
Sugar Puffs taste like shite anyway.
Gabsenza says:

Ahh, poor Honey Monster. I love the the Boosh and I like sugar puffs, although it might not be the best it has to be remembered that ‘Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.’ If anything I am a little dissappointed that Noel and Julian didn’t find it so.

I am a summer soup, mm,
Miso, Miso,
fighting in the dojo,
Miso, Miso,
Oriental prince in the land of soup!
Sugar Puffs, Sugar Puffs HUP!
Honey coated puffs in a milky bath
Put ‘em in your mouth and they make you laugh
Kept in the cupboard taken out for breakfast
Spoon’s best friend and the fridge’s favourite
Huff! Puff! Huff-puff!
Huff! Puff! Huff-puff!
Wheaty chums that settle in transit
Golden pips of a sunshine princess
HMMMMMMMMMM *is very annoyed* I hope that MBoosh have a series with the sugarpuff monster being eaten by a giant banana or something.

I think it’s aweful. How can a pathetic shite tasting cerial be so rude as to rip of the legendary Mighty Boosh? I was so angry when I saw the advert, as it had ruined something I strongly loved. When I read in the Newspaper that Noel and Julian were to sure the sugar puffs commercial bosses, I was relieved. iI hope they sue their asses for every penny, and pull the stupid pathetic advert off.
Ok,
what the fuck, you guys are getting ridiculously stupid over an advert!
Ok fair enough the Boosh rocks and sugar puffs is a fat food for retarded kids who cant get off their asses.
I’m a boosh fan and i was shocked when i saw the advert, but face it, It’s an advert to get kids to try the cereal, the kids buy the product.
Jesus, I never thought some kids were so stupid about some TV Thing >.>

Its embarrasingly bad. The mighty boosh is one of the most original comedies for years and to think some fat, sweaty executive thought ‘lets knock out a crappy copy out’ to hawk cereal to kids is sacrilage. If anyone working there happens to be reading, your cereal smells like hangover piss!
Isn’t that the guy from the dating site adverts – the why wait for cupid and fate ones?

What the hell do they think they’re doing.
I mean has anyone ever heard of originality !?
Pathethic to be quite honest.
Also a poor effort aswell , could have tried a little harder eh?
It’s enough to even TRY and copy crimp but actually take one of Noel & Julian’s own crimps and change the words is sad, very sad.
Big dissapointment tbh.
I now have no respect what-so-ever for the sugarpuff monster.
+ sugarpuffs aren’t even nice , so the advert wasn’t even worth the “effor”
One word .. sue :]

how do the kids buy the cereal???? the parents buy the cereal and frankly they will not get the piss poor advertising – no clear target audience, no consumer representation, couldnt even understand half the words the first listen. kids might influence with pester power but the chances of kids being influenced by a late 20 something gay man sitting next to what anyone of this century will see as a crap costume of a crap character are slight. and the argument of did it rip off the boosh is irrelevant because its just generally such a poor piece of media and campaigning that it really should not warrant such debate.
additional – pot noodle (and quite a few ads at the moment, such as that annoying car one) have shown the people that did this sugar puffs ad up. they took an idea that wasnt original, utilised its popularity with the correct target audience and executed a professional advert that like it or not absolutely shits on the honey monster one.
Pixie says:

Lmao this sucks so much.
I third the opinion that the Boosh should have the Hunster eaten by a giant banana.
I also concur with regards to the Pot Noodle ad – if Sugar Puffs wanted to get kids to buy it, they could have done so much better. The Pot Noodle ad is pretty similar to a crimp but at least they’ve put some effort in to making it a bit more professional than this bollocks.
I always hated Sugar Puffs.

Er can I just say – enough about the crimping already – and on with the recognition that this advert is just complete rubbish. Seriously guys, it made me want to cringe the first time I saw it, as you can see that Honey Monster’s acting chum has so little belief in what he’s saying and doing. It reminded me of the attempts that school friends of mine made when rapping first came to the fore – they so desperately wanted to look cool – and they so didn’t. You know a commercial is a load of old crap when even the actor can’t make it convincing… truly vomit inducing – not really what you want when trying to sell a breakfast cereal – utter bollocks
