Twitter

After signing up to twitter I’ve been racking my brains as to what to use it for…It does seem like a great idea. On the basic level of letting friends know what you’re up to, asking if anyone’s up for a beer etc…it works well (It’s a lot nicer than doing a group email or commenting on someone’s MySpace page).

At the moment, twitter is full of random messages detailing what they’re doing at that present time (which is quite nice in a random way) but I reckon the novelty of writing about ‘taking a shit’ or ‘making a cup of tea’ will wear out for the majority and they’ll start to use it in a more productive way like this article suggests. Even then, I’m sure the users of the world wide web will come up with some ingenious ways to use it and I’ll think “shit! why didn’t I think of that?! I guess I’ll have to keep thinking for the moment…

I’ve added the lovely Twitter widget to a page on this blog which shows my twittering. I do love the name! and it fit’s beautifully – here’s the dictionary definition…
